Integrator/Developer

CommIT is currently searching for a full-time Sr. Data Modeler to fill a position in the Northern Virginia area.  The Data Modeler has the responsibility of defining and specifying data models and mappings for all data used within the enterprise, both internally and externally.  The Data Modeler is responsible for gathering, understanding, modeling, documenting and communicating data requirements necessary to integrate data from multiple sources within the context of business processes.  The Data Modeler participates in the design and implementation of databases and data schemas for enterprise, component and solution-level applications, reporting and analytic needs.  The successful candidates must have the ability to define data and business rules based on requirements and be able to translate those into a logical data model and data architecture view.  Experience with one or more of the following standards is preferred:  Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) v 2.0; Unified Modeling Language (UML); Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN); Ontology Web Language (OWL); Resource Description Framework (RDF); Universal Core (UCORE); Command & Control Core (C2 Core).  The candidate shall also have the ability to integrate data from disparate data sources, a working knowledge of information exchange structures and standards, a working knowledge of relational databases, participate in data governance processes related to data quality and information management.  Experience with data warehouse design and development is a plus.

Software Developer

CommIT is currently searching for a full-time Software Developer to fill a position in Charleston, SC.  We are currently seeking an experienced middleware/back-end/data access layer software developer for a Navy Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) business solution product.  This Developer will be maintaining and improving the SOA product.  While focus will mainly be on the back-end server side data access and services, as part of an agile team, the developer will be expected to contribute to the Front-End Client-Facing Graphic User Interface (GUI) and help ensure that the Presentation Layer is connecting to the Task, Entity and Utility Layer services.  The successful candidate must have a BS in Engineering or Physical Science, 10 years Software Engineering experience including experience in design, development, integration, analysis and test of the software.  Expertise with Java, XML, HTML, CSS and JavaScript are required and the successful candidate must have experience  with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)/Web Services required.

Installation and Engineering Electrician

CommIT is currently searching for a full-time Installation and Engineering Electrician to fill a position in Wahiawa, Hawaii.  The Installation and Engineering Electrician is a member of a team providing customer engineering and installation activities under the leadership of a senior IT technician or engineer.  The electrical candidate will read plans and drawings, to include preparation, installation, connection, testing and servicing both new and retrofit construction of audio and visual equipment, computer network and telecommunications equipment.  The successful candidate will plan and execute all electrical work required for the projects.  In addition to electrical work, the candidate electrician may perform a wide range of engineering and installation tasks including running conduit and cable, installation and connection of cable trays, computer racks and electronic hardware.  The successful candidate must have a current Hawaii State Journey Worker Electrician license with a minimum of 5 years and 10,000 hours of residential and commercial electrical work experience in accordance with National Electrical Code.  Experience in engineering and installation of copper and fiber cables for Department of Defense customers is highly preferred.

Jr. Electronics Technician

CommIT is currently searching for a full-time Jr. Electronics Technician to fill a position in Wahiawa, Hawaii.  The Jr. Electronics Technician is part of a team responsible for the fabrication of cables (optical fiber, fiber optic, RF/coaxial, Cat 5, twisted pair, etc.) to be implemented in a military communications facility.  The candidate position may provide assistance to related support areas to other parts of the team to include pulling and installing cable and rack assembly.  In addition, the candidate works from engineering documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, drawings, diagrams, layouts, and plans.  These documents may require interpretation and application of comprehensive knowledge to include practical  understanding of cable fabrication theory and principles.  Conducts testing and determines methods or actions to correct malfunctions or design problems.  The successful candidate will also recommend modifications to engineering drawings as necessary and may assist in the design, construction, test and checkout phases as required.  Candidates should possess the knowledge and experience to interpret and work from documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, drawings and diagrams, layouts, and plans.  Familiarity with shop practices and or prior supervisory duties are also preferred.

Sr. Network Manager

CommIT is currently searching for a full-time Sr. Network Manager to fill a position in Wahiawa Hawaii.  The Sr. Network Manager is an advanced technical leader, responsible for the ongoing and seamless operations of the application support team that is the escalation point for all customer and network issues.  The ideal candidate will have strong people management experience along with knowledge of IP and networking protocols.  The candidate will upgrade systems and technology in order to maintain security and relevancy of the systems.  The Sr. Network Manager oversees the work of junior employees to ensure the implementation of system requirements and procedures.  The successful candidate must be proficient in Cisco and Foundry experience with an experienced background in switching and enterprise networks.  In addition, the position requires IP management and technical skills in both DHCP and DNS server protocols.  Tech control long haul communications experience is a plus.  CCNA certification is a requirement for this position.
